FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Councils Meet Air Quality Objectives With the Help of KleenAir Systems

July 21st, 2008

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK

Councils across the UK are getting ready to follow London’s lead in initiating low-emission zones (LEZs) across their cities. LEZs help to improve the quality of air in cities by targeting the most heavily polluting vehicles such as lorries and vans and can also tackle other pollutants, including emissions from construction and plant equipment (www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez)

Local Authorities have a responsibility to assess air quality in their area, as part of the Government’s Air Quality Strategy. Air quality can be affected by numerous pollutants such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, lead and fine particles and the Greater London Authority and London Councils produced a Best Practice Guidance document (www.london.gov.uk/mayor/environment/air_quality/construction-dust.jsp)  that identified a number of proposals for improving air quality levels, including emissions controls from vehicles.

KleenAir Systems provide air quality solutions to public and private sector organisations through the manufacture and supply of systems that reduce vehicle emissions, an increasingly important issue for councils and their own vehicles.

KleenAir’s free-flow filters are sized and priced according to the vehicle’s engine capacity and power rating.

  • Once designed and manufactured, installation takes less than two hours, either at your premises or at one of KleenAir’s certified garages.

  • KleenAir also has an extensive design ‘library’ of vehicle exhaust / chassis layouts, enabling them to install systems more rapidly.

For further information about Low Emission Zones, vehicle emissions, or how public sector departments are meeting the objectives of the Government’s national Air Quality Strategy, contact KleenAir Systems by telephoning 01989 566902 by emailing mark.cooper@kleenairsystems.co.uk, or visit  www.kleenairsystems.co.uk.
