Scottish Firms Lose Out on Olympic Contacts
According to a report in the Press and Journal on October 31, 2009, Scottish companies had only been awarded 17 of 1,046 2012 Olympic contracts. This is 1.62% of contracts while Scotland is 7% of the UK population.
Pete Wishart, a MP from Perthshire, said that these figures call into question whether the Olympic contracts has been marketed fairly across the UK.
