Tonik launches GREENINK – a RECYCLING initiative for ink and toner cartridges

Everyone uses printers - and the consumption of ink and toner cartridges is a necessary part of this process. However, the manufacture and disposal of ink cartridges can be damaging to the environment. Tonik Greenink will help limit this impact on the environment.

How it works

Tonik has a proven and efficient recycling programme for the public sector which meets the demands and liabilities of current and expected regulations for ink and toner cartridge disposal. This service is free of charge.
Tonik Greenink will take back empty HP, Lexmark and certain Canon inkjet cartridges which are the only cartridges that are suitable for recycling. Tonik Greenink will recycle all brands of laser toners.
Tonik Greenink will recycle all appropriate cartridges and toners, irrespective of where they were originally purchased.
Tonik Greenink is one link in the recycling chain. We will collect used toners and cartridges and send them to the factory for remanufacturing. There, they will undergo a servicing process that allows them to be reintroduced into the market as remanufactured cartridges.
Tonik can also advise on which printers use cartridges that are most suitable for recycling. This information will be useful when determining which printer models and brands to purchase.
