FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Government urged to spend funds with government or non-profits
June 5th 2008
Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK
Telephone research conducted by Buyers Guide has confirmed what has long been suspected, that government decision makers would prefer to purchase services from other government funded bodies or non-profit organizations. This bias is based on the theory of “keeping money in the public purse” as one respondent commented.
Locations for events and conferences were prime examples of this decision process. The ability to support council owned meeting rooms, venues, museums, leisure centres, sports complexes, non-profit association facilities, church owned property and science centres was seen as a public good.
Other publicly owned services included fire and safety training through fire service departments, health related testing from NHS owned laboratories, waste removal from local councils, education courses from universities and disability discrimination act audits by non-profit organizations.
Many of these products and services can be found on the Buyers Guide online directory at www.buyersguide.co.uk.
