Come by car
Nottinghamshire is easily accessible by road from most parts of the country. The M1 passes just six miles from the city centre and runs along the west side of the county. Excellent links with the A1, A52, A60 and A46 also mean the city and county are easily reached, whatever part of the UK you’re coming from.
Take the train
Nottinghamshire is just as straightforward to get to by train.
East Midlands Trains offer direct rail links to Nottingham from London St Pancras, Sheffield, York, Leeds and Leicester.
East Midlands Connect services run across the county, from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Norwich and Cambridge.
Eurostar
Nottingham’s direct rail link with the new Eurostar terminal at London St Pancras means you can travel in luxury from the heart of Paris to the centre of Nottingham in just under five hours. And with services from Brussels and Bruges, as well as connections to other major European cities, the Eurostar link puts Nottingham a quick, relaxing train ride away from the heart of the continent.

For domestic, European and international flights, Nottinghamshire’s well served by a number of regional airports.
East Midlands Airport is just 14 miles from Nottingham and can be reached quickly by taxi or on the frequent Skylink bus service to the city centre. The airport offers regular scheduled flights, serving many shorthaul and longhaul routes.
Robin Hood Airport is just north of Nottinghamshire and is a major destination for flights from all over Europe and longhaul routes.
Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester and Luton airports are also within driving distance of Nottinghamshire.
