In 1938 and through the early war years Harry T. Squibb was clearing rubbish and other waste materials away from East London and the Docklands. He was carrying this work out using Horse and Carts. He was then called up to serve in the Armed Forces through the rest of the war and was demobbed in 1946.

He restarted his previous works and was also involved in the clearing of damaged buildings. He then started to become involved in the Demolition of these. In 1948 he realised the opportunity that was being presented with the clearance of large areas of East End Tenements and started a full time Demolition Firm known as H. T. Squibb and Son and this was the founding moment of the present Company.

In 1950 he had a Son whom he named Leslie Squibb and who went on to join the Company in 1969 and is the present Chairman.

The firm continued to grow and in 1972 the Company was incorporated and became known as Squibb & Davies (Demolition) Ltd. Also in that year Leslie J. H. Squibb was born, a son to Leslie and Grandson to Harry. He is now the Managing Director.

In line with family tradition, 1995 saw the addition of Westley Squibb. Westley joined the company straight from school and gained experience from the ground up, in all aspects of demolition, culminating in his elevation to the Board of Directors in 2001.
